Thickness measurement

X-rays | Chromatic-confocal

The measuring systems consist of a torsionally rigid C-frame. They enable non-contact, precise thickness measurement of strip and sheet material at a freely selectable cross position or continuously over the entire strip width.

The flexible system design of the measuring systems allows optimal adaptation to specific customer requirements. The simplest version consists of one C-frame and one operator station. A more upscale design can include multiple operator stations, local control consoles, systems for long-term storage and OPC UA interfaces. In addition, the operator stations can be equipped with customer-specific functionalities.

Thickness measurement with X-rays

The measuring systems of the OTM-XC series are designed for non-contact thickness measurement of steel and aluminum flat products.

The thickness measurement is based on the attenuation of emitted X-rays. Optimum adaptation to the measured object is achieved by means of X-ray tubes with different acceleration voltages and detectors (ionization chambers) matched to them.

This enables measurements with the highest accuracy even under harsh environmental conditions.

Chromatic confocal thickness measurement

The measuring systems of the OTM-CC series are suitable for non-contact thickness measurement of steel, non-ferrous metal and aluminum flat products.

They are based on chromatic-confocal displacement sensors. These provide measurement results with the highest accuracy on almost all surfaces. The measuring heads consist exclusively of lenses. Since no waste heat or electrical noise is generated, measured values are not distorted.

Coating weight measurement

X-rays | ATO

These measuring systems consist of torsionally rigid O-frames. They enable non-contact, one- or two-sided, precise measurement of the coating weight.

The flexible system design of the measuring systems allows optimum adaptation to specific customer requirements. The basic version consists of an O-frame and an operator station. A more upscale version can include multiple operator stations, local control consoles, systems for long-term storage and OPC UA interfaces. The operator stations can be equipped with customer-specific functionalities.

The upscale version additionally offers the possibility to record and process an unlimited number of external process and quality parameters and to display them in specific views on the operator stations.

Coating weight measurement with X-rays

The measuring systems of the OCM-X series use X-rays to measure the basis weight of metallic coatings on steel or copper strips.

The measuring frame enables a track measurement at freely selectable cross positions, cross-section measurements over defined areas or over the entire strip width.

Coating weight measurement with ATO

The OCM-A series measuring systems use an ATO (Advanced Thermal Optics) method to measure the thickness of paint or powder coatings on various substrates non-destructively and with high accuracy.

The measuring frame enables a track measurement at freely selectable cross positions, cross-section measurements over defined areas or over the entire strip width.

Geometry measurement

Radar sensor technology

Thickness/width measurement with radar sensor technology
The SGM series measuring systems enable precise geometric measurement of steel, aluminum or copper slabs even in difficult production environments.

The distance measurement is based on radar sensors with a large measuring range and high accuracy. Sensors for non-contact measurement of length and temperature can be added as an option.
